Backend practice

Backend development and cloud engineering

APIs, payments, integrations and data platforms in Node.js, TypeScript and Go, running on infrastructure as code with monitoring from day one.

In short

We design and build the backend that carries the business, from REST, GraphQL and gRPC APIs to subscription billing and supplier integrations. Our lead engineer built core parts of Time Doctor’s billing migration for 280K+ active users, led the backend of Wego’s real-time hotel search across 40+ suppliers, and led database scaling at Zenius for 8M+ registered users.

When to call us

Signs this is the right time

  • Your API or database slows down as usage grows
  • You are moving billing between providers or adding a new payment rail
  • Partners and suppliers need reliable integrations and webhooks
  • Infrastructure is hand built and every change feels risky
  • Errors reach customers before your team hears about them

Questions

Common questions

Anything else is easier to answer on a short call.

Which backend languages and frameworks do you use?

Mostly Node.js and TypeScript with NestJS, Fastify and Express, and Go where throughput and latency matter. Data sits in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis and Elasticsearch, with Kafka, NATS or Pub/Sub for events.

Can you migrate our billing from Stripe to Paddle, or between other providers?

Yes. We built core parts of Time Doctor’s move from Stripe to Paddle for 280K+ active users, with idempotent webhooks and an auditable event trail. It went live in about 9 months.

Which cloud platforms do you work with?

AWS, Google Cloud, Azure and DigitalOcean. Infrastructure is written in Terraform, services ship as Docker images, and monitoring runs in Datadog and Sentry.

Can you take over and scale an existing backend?

Yes. We start with an architecture review, then fix the bottlenecks that cost you most first. At Suprema we partitioned and indexed 1TB+ of access logs and moved the backend to async processing.
